This is a sketch I did some time ago of Dream aka Morpheus aka The Sandman, from the great Neil Gaiman’s comic book series, The Sandman.
❞You hurt. It’s okay. I hurt too. Hold my hand.❞ – The Sandman: Endless Nights
❞Things need not have happened to be true. Tales and dreams are the shadow-truths that will endure when mere facts are dust and ashes, and forgot.❞ – The Sandman: Dream Country
❞I don’t know. Death’s a funny thing. I used to think it was a big, sudden thing, like a huge owl that would swoop down out of the night and carry you off. I don’t anymore. I think it’s a slow thing. Like a thief who comes to your house day after day, taking a little thing here and a little thing there, and one day you walk round your house and there’s nothing there to keep you, nothing to make you want to stay. And then you lie down and shut up forever. Lots of little deaths until the last big one.❞ – The Sandman: The Wake
❞I walk across the dreaming sands under the pale moon: through the dreams of countries and cities, past dreams of places long gone and times beyond recall.❞ – The Sandman: Brief Lives
