“A partial Solar Eclipse occurs on September 1st at 5:04 AM EDT. This eclipse in the sign of Virgo is about new beginnings regarding work, attention to details, fitness, health regimes, and daily routines. Its effects can be felt up to six months after the actual date of the eclipse.
This is a tougher eclipse – the Sun and Moon oppose Neptune and square Mars and Saturn. We may be wrestling with expectations and dealing with reality checks now, which can clear the path for new beginnings.
Some feelings of disillusionment can come now as our dreams and ideals might be put to the test. Ideally, we move towards a realignment of material goals and spiritual ideals as we assess what is truly meaningful to us.
This eclipse also occurs near the North Node in Virgo. Eclipses close to the North Node tend to “feel” easier than those closer to the South Node, as there is a sense of moving forward instead of concentration on having to let go of something.
This is the second to last eclipse in a series falling along the Virgo-Pisces axis that began with the Solar Eclipse in Pisces in March 2015, and it is the final Solar Eclipse in Virgo in this series. There will be a Solar Eclipse in Pisces in February 2017.
Significant developments in the personal areas of our charts ruled by Virgo are likely to occur over the course of the next few months. However, not everyone will feel the effect of the eclipse with the same intensity. Those with personal planets and points at approximately 4 to 14 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) will feel its effects more directly on a personal level.
For some, a new “calling” will surface in the coming months. A new line of work that better matches our inner nature, desire to serve, or emotional make-up may unfold in the months following this eclipse.
With this potent Virgo energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives that will benefit us well beyond this Moon cycle. Striving for perfection can be a wonderful challenge, as long as we don’t allow ourselves to become overly focused on flaws and feel guilty or perturbed over them. This is where Pisces, Virgo’s opposing sign, comes in to help. Compassion, and finding beauty in imperfection, is our path to balancing this energy.
