New Moon Solar Eclipse; August 21, 2017 ◉♌

“I was never really insane except upon occasions when my heart was touched.”
Edgar Allan Poe

A spectacular celestial event occurs on August 21st, 2017 at 2:30 pm ET when our most intimate cosmic bodies — Sun, Moon and Earth — click into place creating a Total Solar Eclipse.

This is the second of two consecutive Leo lunations — a magical bonus round to magnetize our heart’s desire. This extraordinary New Moon also occurs near the powerful fixed star Regulus, the Royal Star – the brightest in the Leo constellation.

“At this Leo New Moon, dare to be vulnerable and wear your heart on your sleeve! Why hold back your true feelings about someone you admire? Or pretend you don’t love something that’s not considered “cool” by the self-appointed tastemakers of the world? What’s really cool is to be unapologetically yourself.” -Astrotwins

Mars, our action planet, will be within four tiny degrees of this eclipse, adding a big boost of energy. These heavenly bodies will receive shimmering vibrations from Uranus, the planet of surprise.

Those whose personal planets are activated by the 29th degree of the eclipse will feel its effects on a highly personal level.

Ideas planted during this period will have a lot of fire behind them. Put your unique brand of amazing in all you’re passionate about!

Electric breakthroughs can be made, especially if you are born around February 26th or August 21st. Home and relationship changes are likely if your birthday falls near February 11th or August 7th.

For clues, think back to the eclipse of August 22nd, 1998, when there was a Solar Eclipse in Leo at the same degree. Can you remember anything special that happened that year or in early 1999?

Locate where Leo falls in your birth chart, it will show you which area of your life is being activated.

Celebrate accomplishments, big and small

Wishing you Peace, Love & Light. xx

The Healing Blanket ☂

“The richness of the rain made me feel safe and protected; I have always considered the rain to be healing—a blanket—the comfort of a friend. Without at least some rain in any given day, or at least a cloud or two on the horizon, I feel overwhelmed by the information of sunlight and yearn for the vital, muffling gift of falling water.” Douglas Coupland

Sun in Cancer + Summer Solstice; June 20th, 2016 ☀♋

“This is the time of the rose, blossom and thorn, fragrance and blood. Now on this longest day, light triumphs, and yet begins the decline into the dark. The Sun King embraces the Queen of Summer..” Starhawk, The Spiral Dance

The Summer Solstice ushers in the high point of light of this solar year on June 2o, at 6:34 pm ET. The Midsummer beams are at their brightest today, the longest day of the year, and like a sunflower, the Northern Hemisphere has its face toward the life-giving Sun.

Summer Solstice is a day for recognizing and honoring the Sun for its energy gifts of bringing light and warmth to our planet. 2016 is a special year, because the solstice coincides with a Full Moon, a time when solar light is radiant and the feminine energies are in abundance.

Fresh Fruit

The summer solstice also coincides with the Sun‘s ingress into Cancer, and the official start of the Summer season; the time of Sun play, ripening of fruit, and honey. Herbs gathered at this time (such as baked elder flower blossoms) were believed to be able to heal and bring health.

Fire and Water are celebrated at the summer solstice, along with the Earth as Mother Goddess, at her most fruitful. Many couples still marry in June, at the peak of nature’s abundance. Some traditions offer newlyweds honey-laced foods for the entire first month of marriage. Not surprisingly, the June full Moon is the Honey Moon.

“Whether it’s an equinox or solstice, we’re celebrating the start of something new. Each season has a specific and essential job that we rely on for our very existence. The equinox and solstice points are sacred markers in time that help us connect the dots to the mystery behind the Earth’s never ending circle of life.” – Maria DeSimone

While the Sun transits gentle and sentimental Cancer from June 21 – July 22, we enter the Realm of Feeling, and are being nudged to get in touch with our emotions. Under the security-conscious Cancer vibe, we rely more on emotions than logic, our actions and attitudes are colored by caution, intuition, and instinct.

Cancer is the sign of the nurturer, they will find a way to nurture something, whether it’s pets, plants, or children. They crave a sense of belonging; they need to feel needed. You just know you’re in good hands with a Cancer friend/parent/love.

We’re more susceptible to the ups and downs of the Moon now. Cancers have a moody, changeable nature, which make them an enigma, even to those closest to them. Like Cancer‘s ruler, the Moon, they are similarly known to glow fully and brightly one moment, and hide their faces the next.

New Moon in Gemini; June 4th, 2016 ❂♊

“Find my hand in the darkness, intertwined you will be the day to my night. We can share wings and take flight.” Truth Devour, Unrequited

Make your wish! A New Moon in the realm of the Twins occurs on Saturday, June 4th, 2016, at 11:00 PM EDT. This Gemini New Moon will be like a breath of fresh air—and a kiss from Cupid too, as it falls at the exact same degree as Love Bomb Venus in Gemini. Ideas that have been planted will soon begin to sprout with mysterious grace and beauty. Times two. Follow the whispers that lead to the twins…

“Be especially conscious and trusting of mysterious or sacred pairs, doubles, and twins that manifest. To the conscious mind these will be trustworthy stepping stones in the Path. Pair off in joy and efficiency where life deems it prosperous to do so. This is a cycle where working in tandems can produce extraordinary results in record times.” -Salvador Russo

Curious Gemini and its ruler Mercury teaches us that our thoughts and perceptions can imprison us or set us free. This New Moon is a matrix-buster that can teach us to let go of limited thinking and prejudices. The reset button gets pushed, the doors of consciousness open, and we travel upward where the mind is free and flexible again.

Venus in Gemini; May 24 – June 17, 2016 💙♊

“You kissed me on the forehead
Now this kiss is giving me a concussion
We were ‘love at first sight’
Now this’s crushi
Camera Obscura

Summer lovin’ gets an early start this year as Venus changes her game, trading Taurus’ sensual stability for Gemini’s youthful sense of wonder. This Venusian transit is about enjoying the teasing, playful side of romance. If you throw a handful of different flavored Pop Rocks into your mouth, you’ll get a taste for what Venus in Gemini is all about! Effervescent. Ticklish. Fun.

Attractions now may begin with words, as we tend to bond on a mental level. There’s nothing Venus in Gemini loves more than intellectual stimulation and some sexy pillow talk. Venus in this butterfly sign will also enhance flirtatious vibes, but isn’t the most reliable or sentimental. We should enjoy the playfulness that’s possible now, just not take it too seriously. It’s a time of tasting..rather than testing.

“The first encounter Venus will have in the third zodiacal sign is a dicey opposition to often inflammatory, aggressive Mars in Sagittarius (7:39PM). Strive toward the brighter side of this polarity where creative artistry, romance and social activities are fortuitous rather than detrimental.” -Mark Lerner

Sun in Gemini; May 20 – June 20, 2016 ☀♊

“We are all butterflies. Earth is our chrysalis.”
― LeeAnn Taylor

After the sensual phase in Taurus, the Sun beams into fun and flirty Gemini on Friday, May 20th. This shift is taking us from Earth to Air, from our bodies to our minds.

As the social ice-breakers of the Zodiac, Gemini enhances the pleasure of communicating with others and brings a lively, playful vibe that enlightens us. Our lust for knowledge and stimulating conversation will be on the rise…as well as the need to point a middle finger at ancient ways of thinking.

Gemini’s symbol, the Twins, gives us the image of duality: things often come in twos for the Gemini born! Their dualistic nature is rumored to have a split persona (more often labeled as two-faced) channeling the twin depiction. This is ’cause Gems can usually see both sides of every situation and can change their minds very easily.

They understand how two seemingly opposing things/ideas can be simultaneously true; yin and yang, left and right, ignorance and understanding, good and bad.

We’re often taught to funnel a multifaceted reality into a common denominator. Everything has to be unified. One belief, one right way, one love, ONE, ONE, ONE. Nope, not in Gemini.

An Everyday Sort of Magic

“I believe in an everyday sort of magic — the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we’re alone.”― Charles de Lint
